Accessibility, Communication & Safeguarding

At Uniskin, we are committed to providing safe, inclusive, and respectful care while ensuring all treatments are delivered ethically, appropriately, and in line with the law.

🏗️ Mobility & Access

Our clinic is located on the first floor and does not have lift access. This means we may not be suitable for individuals who are unable to use stairs. Please contact us before booking so we can discuss suitability or alternative consultation options where appropriate.

👁️ Hearing & Visual Impairments

We welcome patients with hearing or visual impairments and can make reasonable adjustments such as allowing additional consultation time, using clear verbal explanations, written information, or alternative formats where appropriate. Please let us know your needs in advance so we can plan accordingly.

🌐 Language & Translation

Consultations are conducted in English. Translation apps may assist with general communication; however, due to the complexity of clinical information and consent, they may not be suitable as the sole method of translation. Patients are welcome to attend with a trusted interpreter. Advance discussion is encouraged to ensure clear and safe communication.

🤝 Learning Disabilities & Capacity

We aim to support patients with learning disabilities through reasonable adjustments where possible. In line with the Mental Capacity Act (2005), we must ensure that patients can understand, weigh, and communicate informed consent for treatment. If this is not possible for a specific procedure, we may not be able to proceed, as patient safety and safeguarding take priority.

🛡️ Safeguarding

We have a clear safeguarding framework in place and take our responsibility to protect children and vulnerable adults seriously. Any concerns identified will be managed in line with statutory safeguarding guidance.
